F1 2012 season thread

Anyone else interested in this?

Only 7 days something till Practice 1 for the season opener in Australia. Not that i will see it due to little money grabbing Bernie Ecclestone doing the deal with Sky. Guess he has to pay for his ex-wives and spoilt daughters somehow, the weasel. But sod paying £50 a month just to watch F1. Will only be able to watch the 10 BBC races live and probably have to tune in to 5 Live for the rest along with watching highlights.

Anyway, it has the ingredients to be a good season. A few rule changes, the main one resulting in some fugly cars (apart from the McLaren). 6 World Champions on the grid including Raikonnen on the comeback trail. He looks to have a decent car in the Lotus (was Renault) so should be interesting to see if he can pick up where he left off. I'd imagine there are worse ways to spend 2 years off than in rallying. I think he might even come back better for it?

Been following most of the testing over winter but hard to say which team is fastest. I think they're too busy doing other stuff than going all out. Definately some "sandbagging going on". Although it already looks like Ferrari are struggling yet again. Would be hard to bet against Vettel and Red Bull. It seems highly unlikely that they would suddenly build a duff car; not with Adrian "Neo" Newey still on board.
